The Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) is provided by a grant from the Department of Housing & Urban Development and offers essential services to qualified residents of Marsh Island Apartments.  This service enables residents to remain independent and continue residing in their homes as they grow older.

Residents participating in the program may receive one or two meals a day, light housekeeping services, and assistance with shopping and errands.  Meals are served family style in the Dining Room or delivered to the resident's apartment.  Special diets are provided.  Housekeeping services include light house cleaning, help with the laundry, shopping and errand service.  Support is also available for a variety of problems that may arise such as assistance needed to understand bills, insurance forms and other legal papers.  Help is also available making appointments, arranging for transportation and applying for other services.   Fees for services are based on income.  The Professional Assessment Committee will determine a person's need for services from information provided by health care providers and interviews in which each person's health and abilities are assessed.
